Thomas Troy

Thomas Troy brings unique combination experience as a leader and as a business strategist to the executive coaching profession.

Before joining Workplace Relationships, Tom was a Senior Vice President and the head of both the Global Securities and the Prime Brokerage divisions of Merrill Lynch. He was also a member of Merrill’s Executive Management Committee.

In the course of his financial services career, Tom’s client base encompassed a broad range of institutional and middle market clients including hedge funds, exchange member firms, money managers, pension plan sponsors, insurance companies and other financial institutions. Tom’s divisions were directly responsible for providing a variety of services the firm’s most senior clients including a comprehensive suite of transaction and portfolio financing services, financial futures and options and clearance, settlement and custody.

Tom not only brings an experienced senior executive perspective to his coaching clients, he also brings extensive global experience. In the course of Tom’s career at Merrill, he served as the head of equities of Europe, the Middle East and the Americas. He was based in both London and New York, in the course of running these respective regions running these respective regions, was responsible for all secondary and primary sales, trading and capital markets across all cash and derivative products.

As a leader in financial services, Tom managed over 2,000 employees at Merrill and was responsible for generating a significant percentage of the firm’s annual revenue. As an executive coach at Workplace, he combines his first-hand experience as a leader and mentor with our firm’s methodology to help senior executives manage their organizations and careers more effectively.

Tom holds a BA from the College of The Holy Cross and an MBA from New York University.
